Finding Inspiration in Every Turn

Anxiety Unloaded is the brainchild of myself, Malcolm Nicholls. It has come about from my observation that as a society we are doing a poor job of recognising and treating anxiety. We have made the mistake of thinking that because anxiety arises in our mind (which it does, anxiety starts in our mind), that we need to treat it there. However, what I have observed is that even though Anxiety starts in the mind, it is in the body that we experience it. We feel anxiety. So what this means is that we need to shift our focus in how we treat stress and anxiety away from trying to change our thoughts into learning how to work with the anxious state in our body.

 The Good News On Anxiety

Working with your body, learning how to calm it down, is so much easier than trying to unpick a lifetime of mental baggage, and it is much less intimidating. I say this because once you learn what is actually happening in your body when you get stressed and anxious you will realise that it is a normal thing that is happening, and it is something that all humans feel. Which means that when it comes to treating it physically the same rules apply to us all.

 

This last piece is what makes this philosophy and way of working with stress and anxiety so good for teams and organisations. It means that everyone can work together through some simple, yet incredibly effective techniques that can radically change how a person (and team!) can feel.
